Prince has just released a new song, and the name says it all—”HARDROCKLOVER.”
The last new music Prince released was an anthemic protest song called “Baltimore,” written as a memorial for Freddie Gray and a tribute to its namesake city during a time of protest.
His new song“HARDROCKLOVER”, is no less impassioned, but this time he’s addressing a more universal subject—sex. Prince attempts to court a lover the only way he knows how: by playing his guitar at her. We can assume there’s also some suggestive hip thrusts in the mix.
“Turn my guitar up/ So I can make this woman scream,” Prince exclaims. “Ain’t no rapper trying to be a singer/ Come on, make a move … R&B ain’t got no place/ But put some hard rock on, you’d better cover your ears/ ‘Cus you’re about to hear a woman just scream.”
